RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The following is list of the Board’s responsibilities:

  • Regularly promote the Foundation’s programs to the congregation and provide counseling and education regarding giving and the use of the funds.
  • Develop, maintain and regularly review a series of policy statements to aid in the governing process covering investments, donations, fund distribution and others as may be needed. Board members will be readily available to discuss any questions regarding these policies.
  • Manage the overall asset investment process which may include selection and supervision of a professional fund manager(s) and a the conduct of a quarterly evaluation of asset allocation and investment performance.
  • Annually determine the amount of money to be distributed from the Foundation to DHPC to be spent in support of the mission of DHPC and disburse those funds on an agreed schedule.
  • Advise the Session and congregation at least annually regarding the investment performance of the Foundation, uses of annual distributions, new gifts and donor names as appropriate (with the donor’s permission) and any other pertinent issues.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and utilize their resources as appropriate for managing and funding the Foundation.
