SOURCE OF FUNDS
Funds available for monetary grants will come from both general and restricted donations to the DHPCF foundation by members and friends of DHPC. Those funds are invested and the earnings used for monetary grants to support DHPC. (See Manner of Giving)
Donations may be made to the endowment in many forms such as cash, real estate, securities, personnel property, etc. Please see Type Of Gift for further information.
SIZE OF GRANTS
Grants may commence when the endowment fund exceeds $200,000 in asset value. When that occurs, the Board will establish a “target distribution rate” as set forth by Arizona law. Currently, such a rate would be around 4-5% annually.
DHPC’S MISSION AS GUIDE TO GRANTS
Grants will be made to support DHPC’s growth and outreach mission as agreed by Session and the Foundation Board. They will not be used to meet annual operating costs like building and grounds maintenance, utility costs or staff salaries and benefits.
